Ramu in the Line of Fire
This time it seems that Ram Gopal Varma has gone too far. His act of accompanying the Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh to the terror ravaged sites of The Taj and The Oberoi has come in for sharp criticism from the film fraternity.
The fraternity is shocked at the perversity of the act. Everybody, beginning from a Vikram Bhatt, to Sudhir Mishra, Abbas Tyrewala, Anurag Kashyap, have an
opinion on the subject. Of course, they have all been unanimous in voicing their concern at the insensitivity displayed by the Chief Minister in the first place for taking the director along. As for Ramu and his penchant for making quickies, one just hopes that the visit was not to get a first hand account of masalaa for the flick. If so, then Ramu could not have got it more wrong. Like our politicians, he seems to have misread the mood of the public at large, as well. The people are not in a very forgiving mood as the state deputy chief minister discovered to his peril, having to resign from his post in the aftermath. As for the film fraternity, they have decided to get together and march to the Mantralaya with a counter terrorism plan along with some other prominent figures from other fields. The list of celebs include Ronnie Screwvalla, Malaika Arora Khan, Karan Johar, Kim Sharma and many more along with Nandan Nilekani, Nisha Jamwal, Kishore Biyani, Anil Dharker, Bachi Karkaria and Peter Mukherjea.
